Operating a snowcat presents several practical visibility and control challenges during daily grooming work. The large front blade and extended front structure create a short-range blind zone directly ahead of the machine, making it difficult for the operator to see small obstacles, boundary markers or tools placed on the snow surface. When working close to lift towers, snowmaking pipes or trail edges, judging the exact position of the blade relative to these objects can require extra caution.

At the rear, the snow tiller and grooming attachment extend well behind the vehicle, but this area is not fully visible from the cab. During reversing or when aligning the machine along narrow trails, operators may have difficulty confirming the exact position of the rear equipment. In addition, the wide tracks and side panels limit the view of the lower side areas, where rocks, poles or uneven snow buildup may be present. These conditions can make precise maneuvering more demanding, especially during night operations or in low-visibility weather common on ski slopes.
